IS MEXICO WORTH VISITING?

Most definitely! It’s sometimes by-passed on the getaway trail thanks to its bigger neighbor, but the sunny climate, ancient buildings, fascinating culture and wild lands make it a must-see destination for any traveler. You’ll find palm tree-lined beaches with the whitest sand and clearest waters, mountains, volcanoes, UNESCO Heritage Sites and a host of adventure activities.

Trekking is available to the highest peaks, and wildlife diving can introduce you to the world of sharks, dolphins and manta rays. For those with a head for heights, Copper Canyon offers zip-wires and rope bridges in the wildest territory.

The land is also dotted with archeological buildings reflecting Mexico’s ancient past. The Teotihuacan Pyramid is just one of these, and it’s amazing to see a building that would not look out of place in the Egyptian desert, right in the middle of the Mexican countryside!

Traditional wellness in Mexico is truly a holistic approach, and a belief in both the natural and spiritual worlds. The importance of a largely plant-based diet, centered on vegetables, fruit and rice is seen as an essential wellness ingredient. Famous the world over, the chilli pepper is just one of Mexico’s culinary gifts to the world and being packed with fiber and vitamin C it’s well-known in science for its health benefits.

Mexico also places great value on plant-based medicines, hot steam rooms to rid oneself of toxins, and the importance of the family. It’s believed that too much time alone can unbalance a person’s spirit, with daily social occasions – such as eating, laughing or playing music together – being seen as vitally important to an individual’s wellness.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT MEXICO?

Mexico has two distinct seasons – wet and dry. The wet season begins at the end of April and lasts until September. This also coincides with the hottest, most humid temperatures. In the months of July and August, temperatures can easily reach 35 degrees. December and January are the driest months and also the coolest, although it’s common to experience days around 25 degrees.

But there’s never a bad time to visit Mexico! Simply match your desired wellness activities to the season and go from there. During the wet season, you’ll find the least rain in the far north.
