FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA?

The south is one of Australia’s driest parts, and boasts an average temperature close to 30°C. Inland you’ll find some of the country’s most untouched land. Much of the region is desert and the arid land and lack of water make it inhospitable to live on all year round. As a result, most people live close to the coast as there is more rainfall.

Winter falls in South Australia from June to July, although it’s still warm during these months. The weather is at its hottest in January and February.

WHAT CHOOSE SOUTH AUSTRALIA FOR MY WELLNESS RETREAT?

Australia is well-versed in wellness therapy and the south in particular offers a wonderful contrast between the old and the new. You’ll find modern therapies and practices within its resorts, yet untouched wilderness just a short journey away.

The wildness of the region is an attraction for many. Although the state has a big city in Adelaide, this doesn’t compare to the likes of Sydney or Melbourne for size, although it’s very big on festivals. The coast has some wonderful beaches and on Kangaroo Island you’ll find a rich reserve of wildlife, including penguins, koalas, seals and bird species.

Inland, much of the area is untouched, making it a trekker’s paradise. From bushwalks and mountain hikes to desert excursions, South Australia offers the perfect opportunity to get back to nature.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WALK TO MORIALTA FALLS?

Being just 10km from Adelaide, Morialta Conservation Park is a popular destination for anyone visiting South Australia, and the walk to the falls is less than 2km long. Weaving mostly through bush-land, the park includes three waterfalls and rock climbing routes on the many crags. It’s also a great location for bird-watching and finding personal space so close to a major city.
