Our happiest moments as tourists always seem to come when we stumble upon one thing while in pursuit of something else.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS MALAYSIA WORTH VISITING?

Most certainly! You’ll find a rich and diverse culture, with Malays living alongside indigenous groups, a large Indian population and many Chinese too. Malaysia’s multicultural heritage is beautifully reflected in the country’s architecture, with many of the buildings earning UNESCO heritage status.

You’ll also experience the great contrast between the major international city of Kuala Lumper and wild country not far away. Malaysia has rainforests – over half the country is covered in trees and jungle – mountains and some wonderful sites for wildlife diving.

Wellness tourism has also grown in recent years, and the diversity of settings make it a great place to choose for your retreat. Not only do you have all that fabulous weather, but the choice of having major cities, beautiful coastline and rainforests at your disposal mean you’ll have a luxurious retreat with the option of adventure just a breath away.

IS IT SAFE TO TRAVEL IN MALAYSIA?

Yes, it’s safe to travel in Malaysia, but follow the normal guidelines that you’d use back home. Keep your possessions close to you always, and be mindful of scams. Petty crime including pickpocketing and bag snatching can occur in Malaysia, even within cafes and restaurants, so be careful not to leave bags lying around. If you’re using public transport, make sure you agree a price before setting off as taxis are unmetered.

DOES MALAYSIA HAVE A WET SEASON?

Unlike many of its neighbors, Malaysia doesn’t have a distinct ‘rainy season’ in the sense of having several months of torrential weather. The weather is largely warm all year round, shifting between 20 and 30 degrees, and even during the wet season you’re more likely to experience a quick downpour rather than flooding.

Malaysia is wettest on the east coast between November and March, whereas the west coast has rain from April to November.
