India is a huge country with a diverse landscape, widely different cultures and weather systems. You’ll be sure to have a great time wherever you travel, but staying in one region of the country can be a vastly different getaway to another.
Northern India is famous for the Taj Mahal, but has vast desert land and also borders the Himalayas. Eastern India is known for its vast tea plantations, plains and jungle. The west has the capital of Mumbai as well as some fabulous coastline and forests. In Central India you’ll find the Mahabodhi Temple which is said to be the site where Buddha gained enlightenment, sat beneath one of the trees within its grounds. Whilst the south boasts many famous Buddhist and Islamist buildings, it’s also the best place to experience traditional Indian music and dance.
To visit India as a whole is like visiting several different countries! Best to put a pin in your map and just dive in.
