FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT BALI?

Bali retreats are understandably popular at all times of year. The scenery, relaxed vibe and ingrained wellness culture make it a great destination to lose yourself in self-healing, whatever time you travel.

If you’re looking for some guaranteed sun, you’ll find it all year round in Bali, although April to September offers the driest weather. December and January are the wettest months, with monsoons possible, but it’s still possible to experience sunny and humid weather during this time.

WHAT ARE THE DANGERS IN BALI?

Bali is a safe country to visit overall. As with travelling to any destination, keep your possessions close to you at all times and use common sense when using public transport. Scammers are easy to find so stick to pre-booked taxis if you need a ride somewhere.

Many people hire scooters to get around in Bali, but this can be extremely dangerous for the inexperienced driver. Even if you’ve been driving a motorbike in your home country for years, you’ll find local rules to be very different.

It’s also worth knowing that the country has active volcanoes. If you’re staying in an area where this could be a threat – however unlikely – make yourself aware of any evacuation procedures.

HOW DO YOU DRESS IN BALI?

This really depends where you are. For your wellness retreat, loose-fitting clothes come recommended. Breathable, natural fibers are also worth investing in, such as cotton or linen. If you’re around a pool or visiting the beach, it’s a good rule of thumb to ‘do as the locals do’. Swimwear such as a bikini or swim-shorts will be fine in such places, but keep covered up in public areas. A T-shirt and shorts will be fine almost everywhere, but be prepared to have to cover shoulders and legs if visiting religious monuments and buildings.
